Jet Away Joins Arctic Tack Stud
JET AWAY, winner of 8 races from 21 starts culminating in victory in the 2013 MRC Easter cup Gr.3 at Caulfield and placed in the 2013 Gr.1 MRC Caulfield Cup (only beaten by 1.25L) has retired from racing and will stand at Arctic Tack Stud in 2015 to begin his Stallion career under the excellent care of Eoin Banville.
The 8 year old son of Cape Cross, who is the Sire of Sea The Stars, JET AWAY also hails from one of the very best broodmare lines in the world. His dam Kalima is a full-sister to the outstanding broodmare Hasili, dam of course of Dansili, Cacique and Champs Elysees that are all successful stallions and who are just three of her seven stakes winners.
Originally trained by Henry Cecil in Newmarket, JET AWAY won a listed race at Glorious Goodwood in 2012 beating the 2013 Gr.1 Melbourne cup winner Fiorente by 2.75L.
Transferred to Australia under the stewardship of hall of fame trainer David Hayes who himself states “JET AWAY showed the most determination of any race horse I ever trained, if he hadn’t picked up an injury he would have in my opinion went on to win multiple Gr.1 races in Australia”
“We’re standing him in partnership with his owner MCR Bloodstock Agents Ltd,” Eoin Banville, owner of Arctic Tack Stud said. “He has settled in beautifully. He’s a beautiful specimen, a good-limbed horse and retired sound in wind. We’re excited about him.”
JET AWAY has retired sound in wind and limb and is a very attractive looking horse with excellent confirmation and stands 16.1½ HH and going on his pedigree should make an excellent dual purpose stallion.
Jet Away will be featured on the upcoming ITM Irish Stallion Trail taking place from January 22nd – 25th.
