Exciting Start For Jet Away At May Store Sale
Jet Away’s debut crop of stores were in strong demand at the Tattersalls Ireland May Store Sale where a gelding out of Cool Trix sold to Harold Kirk for €45,000, a fantastic return on his 2015 service fee of €1,500.
The attractive gelding was a good pinhook for Gerry Hogan Bloodstock who purchased him for €26,000 as a foal in 2016.
“This is a gorgeous horse,” Kirk said to the Racing Post.
“Of course we know the family through Cousin Vinny and we were very lucky there.
“Jet Away seems an exciting young sire and is by Cape Cross, which might put a bit of speed into the mares.”
Jet Away finished the sale as the sixth leading sire by average with five lots selling for an average price of €18,600 and an overall aggregate of €93,000.
Jet Away, who is standing his fifth season at stud for €1,500 at Arctic Tack Stud, was a Group Three winner over 2000m on the flat and is closely related to former champion sire Dansili.
